APR FC have officially confirmed the acquisition of Ivorian striker William Togui Mel on a two-year contract.
Togui Mel, 28, joins the Rwandan champions as a free transfer after his deal with Turkish outfit Ankara Keciorengücü came to an end following the 2024/25 season.

The forward previously featured for a number of clubs including Difaa El Jadida, Ittihad Khemisset, and Rapide Oued Zem in Morocco between 2014 and 2017. He later returned to Côte d’Ivoire to represent SC Gagnoa before making a move to Belgian top-flight side Mechelen in 2018.

However, he found it difficult to adapt at Mechelen, who subsequently loaned him to several clubs such as Espérance de Tunis in 2021, RWDM in Belgium, and Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel during the 2022/23 campaign.

He later lined up for Tuzlaspor in the 2023/24 season, before switching to Ankara Keciorengücü in 2024.

Togui Mel was presented as APR FC’s new signing on the same day 21-year-old defender Alex Nduwayo committed to a four-year deal from Gasogi United.

APR reportedly paid a transfer fee of Rwf 25 million to secure the services of Nduwayo, who is expected to pocket a monthly salary of Rwf 900,000, according to insiders.

Nduwayo’s switch to APR follows a single season with Gasogi United’s senior squad. The young defender will face stiff competition from established names such as Clement Niyigena, Yunussu Nshimiyimana, and Aliou Souane for a starting spot.

Meanwhile, midfielder Aimable Ntarindwa has finalized a move to Rayon Sports after inking a two-year agreement that will keep him at the club until June 2027.
