A $12 Million Investment Boosting Local Economy and Employment

Mwurire Sector, Rwamagana District Rwanda’s industrial sector continues to expand with the grand opening of Value Platform Industrial Rwanda Ltd, a state of the art manufacturing facility specializing in powder soap production. With a total investment of over $12 million, the factory boasts a maximum daily production capacity of 73 tons, positioning it as a key player in the country’s industrialization efforts.

The launch event gathered key stakeholders, including government officials, business leaders, and representatives from the Chinese Embassy, underscoring the significance of this milestone for economic development and employment creation in Eastern Province. 

Driving Employment and Skills Development

Speaking at the event, Mr. Zhang Liang, the company’s Director, emphasized the factory’s commitment to providing diverse job opportunities across different sectors.

 “We offer positions in administrative roles, industrial work, packaging, and skilled technician positions. Additionally, we have partnered with the Musanze Polytechnic, University of Vocational Entity to recruit and train employees, ensuring that the local workforce benefits from professional skills development,” he stated.

 This initiative is expected to create over 300 jobs for Rwandans, contributing significantly to the local economy and improving livelihoods.

 Dr. Nyirahanimana Jeanne, Executive Secretary of Eastern Province, highlighted the importance of aligning industrial development with employment laws and environmental sustainability.

As we strive to build an inclusive and sustainable economy, industries like this provide much-needed employment opportunities for our citizens, particularly the youth. However, industrial progress must go hand in hand with compliance to employment laws and environmental sustainability. I urge the management to prioritize sustainable practices, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all employees,” she stated.

She further emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in fostering industrial growth while safeguarding natural resources and community well-being.
